Made from domestically sourced yellowfin tuna, maguro-bushi offers a refined and light flavour. Compared with bonito flakes, it has a subtle sweetness that enhances the natural taste of ingredients.

Its mild yet distinctive character makes it especially suitable for clear soups. It is also widely used in Okinawan dishes such as nakami-jiru (pork offal soup), soki-jiru (pork rib soup), and Okinawa soba. Beyond dashi, it can be enjoyed in various dishes including dressed vegetables, okonomiyaki, or chilled tofu.
